He is also an Associate Professor (with Aggregation) at ISEG &#8211; Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon. Economic advisor to the President of the Republic An\u00edbal Cavaco Silva, between 2012 and 2016, he worked for 10 years at the Ministry of Finance and was a Consultant in the Technical Budget Support Unit. From 2022 to 2024, he was a deputy to the Assembly of the Republic and President of the PSD Parliamentary Group. He has a PhD in Finance from Tilburg University, in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joaquim Miranda Sarmento \u00e9 atualmente Ministro de Estado e das Finan\u00e7as do XXV Governo Constitucional da Rep\u00fablica Portuguesa. \u00c9 tamb\u00e9m Professor Associado (com Agrega\u00e7\u00e3o) no ISEG &#8211; Instituto Superior de Economia e Gest\u00e3o, Universidade de Lisboa. Conselheiro econ\u00f3mico do Presidente da Rep\u00fablica An\u00edbal Cavaco Silva, entre 2012 e 2016, trabalhou durante 10 anos no Minist\u00e9rio das Finan\u00e7as e foi consultor na Unidade T\u00e9cnica de Apoio Or\u00e7amental.
