Ana Fontoura Gouveia

Ana Fontoura Gouveia was born in Figueira da Foz, in 1982.

  1. in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics, where she completed her studies in 2015.

Economist at Banco de Portugal, between 2004 and 2008, in the areas of National Financial Accounts and External Accounts.

He held positions at the European Central Bank until 2014, first in the area of Monetary and Financial Statistics and then in the European Institutions and Fora Division.

In 2015, he worked at the Office of Strategy and Studies of the Ministry of Economy, where he led the Economic Environment Analysis team.

She held positions at GPEARI at the Ministry of Finance until 2018, where she was responsible for the Economic Analysis, Research and Forecasting Department.

In 2018, she returned to Banco de Portugal, where she worked as an Economist in the Structural Analysis and Public Finance Division.

Economic Advisor at the Prime Minister’s Office from the end of 2019 until January 2023.

Guest Professor at Nova School of Business and Economics, where she has been teaching since 2016.

In the academic year 2012/2013 she obtained a study leave from the ECB, having passed through the Nova School of Business and Economics, the University of Liège and the Toulouse School of Economics, in the context of her PhD.

She is the author of several publications in the field of public policy, in which she specialises. Over the years, she has participated as Portugal’s representative in various international working groups, namely the OECD, the European Commission and the European System of Central Banks.
