Claire Chung
CEO, Ignae
Claire is a pioneer at the crossroad of luxury and digital commerce with 25+ year experience in the luxury business from auction houses to fashion and beauty. She has been part of senior management of publicly listed companies and a pioneer that launched China’s first luxury online retailer, signing the deals to take more than 200 brands into China. A citizen of the world, she has worked in New York, London, Milan, Hong Kong, & Shanghai and is a polyglot speaking five languages.
In 2012, Claire joined Shangpin as Vice President of Global Business Development to launch China’s 1st online luxury retailer. In 2015, she was appointed the General Manager of Net-A-Porter Group where she launched NET-A-PORTER in China. Post- merger with Yoox Group, Claire was promoted to be the General Manager of the Yoox Net-A-Porter Group in China where she ran the group’s 2 subsidiaries and operating more than 15 websites.
In 2020, Claire joined Ignae, a start -up skincare brand based in the Azores as Co-Founder and CEO and helped raised its initial capital and in 4 years since its relaunch, ignae is sold to customers in 22 countries including key luxury retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman in New York; luxury spas such as Four Seasons Spa in Hong Kong, The Atlantis in Dubai and in leading aesthetic & longevity clinics.
Claire is a graduate of Barnard College, of Columbia University. She continued her studies with an Executive Finance Degree from CEIBS (China European International Business School) in Shanghai, and is a graduate of Cambridge’s first Executive Program in Circularity & Sustainability
She has held various Board roles and currently serves on the Supervisory Board of Delsey Paris.
