GERMANO ALMEIDA has been an International Politics commentator for NOW and a columnist for Sábado magazine since November 2024. He is the author and host of Guerra e Paz (“War and Peace”) on NOW, the only daily international affairs analysis program on Portuguese prime-time television, since January 2025.

He was an international politics commentator for SIC from 2020 to 2024. He also created and hosted Decisão América (“America Decision”) on SIC Notícias from August to November 2024. In 2024, he contributed opinion columns to Diário de Notícias on Tuesdays and Sundays. He was also an international politics commentator for TSF radio between 2020 and 2024.

He is the author of seven books — six focused on U.S. presidencies and one on the Russian invasion of Ukraine:

He is also the co-creator of the podcast Radar USA, alongside journalist Ana Rita Guerra. A U.S. politics analyst since the 2000 Gore/Bush election, he was a FLAD (Luso-American Development Foundation) fellow during the 2012 U.S. presidential election (Obama’s re-election).

He holds a degree in Communication Sciences from NOVA University Lisbon (Faculty of Social and Human Sciences). He completed the National Defence Institute’s course on Defence and Security for Journalists (2013), as well as the Advanced Studies in Geopolitics program at the same institution (2023/2024).
