Rishi Sunak served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2024. His tenure was marked by a return to economic stability, the UK taking a global leadership position in new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and increasing defence spending so the country was better equipped to stand up to the new axis of authoritarian states. The Windsor Framework he negotiated with the EU helped to restore devolved government in Northern Ireland. <\/p>\n\n
Sunak was Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2020 to 2022. As Chancellor, he led the country\u2019s economic response to Covid. His business support measures including, for the first time in the UK, a furlough scheme saved millions of jobs, preventing mass unemployment. He took measures to drive growth, including investment tax cuts and financial services deregulation. <\/p>\n\n
Before entering politics, Sunak forged a distinguished career in finance. He worked at Goldman Sachs, The Children\u2019s Investment Fund and co-founded an investment firm supporting British businesses. \u202f <\/p>\n\n
Sunak was educated at Winchester College and Oxford University where he read Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He also has an MBA from Stanford University where he was a Fulbright scholar. <\/p>\n\n
Sunak is a member of the World Leader\u2019s Circle at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University and the William C. Edwards distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
