Ana Miguel dos Santos is a Partner at Deloitte Portugal, where she leads the newly
established Defence and Security practice, with direct responsibility for integrating the
firm’s European strategy in this domain, within the framework of Deloitte Central Europe.
She works closely with Deloitte’s regional and global leadership, contributing to the firm’s
positioning with NATO and to the shaping of the European security and defense
architecture.
With a multidisciplinary career spanning nearly two decades — including international
legal practice, executive roles in government advisory, parliamentary mandates in both the
Portuguese Parliament and the European Parliament, and a solid academic track record —
Ana Miguel dos Santos represents a new generation of strategic leadership with global
impact. Her work combines legal depth, strategic thinking, and concrete experience in
high-level institutional settings.
She is a regular speaker at major international forums on foreign policy, security, and
defense. She was recognized as one of the “25 Young World Leaders” by the Munich
Security Conference and contributed to the drafting process of NATO’s New Strategic
Concept (Madrid, 2022), establishing herself as an active voice in the transatlantic security
agenda.
Ana Miguel dos Santos has conducted research in international security at the University
of Cambridge, holds specialized training as a NATO Legal Adviser (Oberammergau), and
lectures on security and defense at academic institutions in Portugal and Canada. She is
currently a guest lecturer at the Institute for Political Studies of the Portuguese Catholic
University and is awaiting the public defense of her PhD thesis at the General Gutiérrez
Mellado University Institute (Madrid), entitled: “Striking the Balance: A Criterion for
Harmonizing Secrecy and Transparency in International Security within EU and NATO
Frameworks.”
